Oxygen mask

Oxygen face mask is widely used for the treatment of sick patients suffering from various respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and emphysema.

Additionally, in emergency situations, an oxygen face mask is administered to relieve acute symptoms such as shortness of breath and decreased oxygen saturation.

The oxygen face mask is also commonly administered throughout the hospital setting, such as in the operating room during surgery and during postoperative recovery, and in intensive care units for critically ill patients.

Main Features

• Elongated facial mask.
• Transparent and soft mask for patient comfort.
• Adjustable elastic strap and integrated nose clip for correct positioning of the mask.
• Star lumen-shaped tube to ensure a continuous flow of oxygen.
• The proximal end of the tube is connected with a funnel-shaped connector for easy connection to the oxygen source.

Instructions for use:

• Before using oxygen face mask:
  • Perform hand hygiene.
  • Wash your hands with warm water and soap. Dry well, put on gloves and aprons.
  • Apply clean gloves.
• During the use of oxygen facial mask.
  • Connect the oxygen supply tube to the oxygen source (oxygen cylinder) and adjust the oxygen level to the prescribed flow rate.
  • Check the flow of oxygen through the device by holding the mask to your ear and listening to the sound of the airflow.
  • Place the mask on the patient's face with the elastic strap under the ear.
  • Gently pull on the end of the strap until the mask is secure.
  • Mold the metal strap of the mask to fit your nose.
• After using oxygen mask
  • Perform hand hygiene
  • Disconnect the oxygen supply tube from the oxygen source (oxygen cylinder).
  • Remove the device from the patient's face.
  • Remove gloves and place the patient in a comfortable position. Evaluate the comfort level.
  • Perform hand hygiene.

Contraindications:

1. Anomalies or surgery of the face, nose, or mouth that prevent a properly fitting oxygen mask.
2. Blocked nasal passages
3. All patients with unfavorable ventilatory response to oxygen treatment. If O2 treatment is not effective (unfavorable or unfavorable ventilatory response), mechanical ventilation should be used, as in all cases in patients in respiratory coma.
4. It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the materials used.
5. This mask may not be suitable for patients at risk of reflux of gastric contents.
6. Monitoring is recommended if the patient has a reduced level of consciousness or is unable to remove the mask.
