Target Population:

Therapeutic formula F-75 (Formula 75 Kcal/100ml) was designed to stabilize patients during phase 1 of the treatment of severe acute malnutrition.

Suitable for children from 6 months of age.

Context of Use:

When children suffering from severe acute malnutrition arrive at the hospital, they generally present medical complications (infections, liver failure, etc.).

Children in such a state of health cannot tolerate the usual amounts of protein, fat and sodium. That is why it is important to start the treatment by giving foods low in protein, fat and sodium, but rich in carbohydrates (therapeutic formula F-75).

  • It is not designed for children to gain weight. Its use should be limited to phase 1 of treatment. It is not convenient to feed well-nourished children.
  • Should be used in nutritional rehabilitation centers under medical supervision and should not be distributed directly to families.
  • It does not replace breast milk. Breastfeeding is recommended immediately after birth and for the first 6 months. of life as food. It is recommended to continue breastfeeding continuously until 24 months.
